How about The Packhorse Bridge and The Three Ferrets is The White Swan? :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Where's this then?

Packhorse Bridge spot on.....bit more landscaping done now down to the river. I think the three ferrets will be a mystery Mick.....I guess pretty much like the Fat Ox which got pulled down in the Likely Lads Film they could have just "faked" the pub with a bit of signage.

Yes and that is James Bolam/ Terry Collier if you didnt pick it up.

If you havent seen the Likely Lads film (1976 ish) might be worth getting hold of, for a watch before you set off on your September Stroll. Many locations you may come across. In the film Bob and Terry stay in a guest house in Whitley bay....on the Links just like Cara's but a bit further along. Its actually a private house (The White House) but in the film it is known as the "Ivanhoe Guest House"

Excellent Mick all those scenes come from the film as opposed to the TV series. This pub is about a couple of miles from Whitley Bay, and the scene from the FAT ox....it was a terrace in Gateshead mocked up for the pub and now demolished.

My instant reaction to that Neil was "Is it a possible for our Monday night revelry?" So I looked at their website, https://beehiveearsdon.co.uk/menu-2/ , only to discover that at the moment the kitchen is closed on Mondays!! No telling whether that will be the case in September but it can stay on the possibles list! :-D

An off the top of the head question for tinkering with:

How can you relate the picture of Tynemouth Pier to a bottle of Whiskey? Maybe a little obscure as it is from my grey matter but I am certain it is right!! :-D

Clue 1- There are 3 steps!!

Its not a walk from the Guest House Mick, but not beyond organising if you wanted to.

There is a Fat Ox in Whitley bay but it is in name only, don't think it was a location for film or TV. The Black Horse which gets a location check in the film is in reality the Collingwood Arms in Jesmond (Newcastle) hidden away in the back streets near the Newcastle High School For Girls.

I see theres a question popped up while I was typing this....I'll have a swift go but may have to return to it later.

Just a clarification Mick the Whiskey element, is that deliberate suggesting prehaps an Irish or US brand, as opposed to a Scottish brand which tend to use Whisky :?:

Well the first part comes from the picture...... James Bolam (Terry Collier), those beer cans are McEwans Export......Its a "Still" from the Likely Lads Movie, It is Tynemouth Pier, it has a lighthouse at the end of it...../

The second part must relate the picture to

The third part which is a bottle of whiskey. Jack Daniels maybe, Bushmills, Jameson.....

Well lets go for a James Bolam in the pic (Step 1) He is married to Susan Jameson (Step 2) and Jameson is a famous Irish Whiskey (Step 3)

howzat :?:

OUT!!! Excellent deduction my dear Holmes! :-D There was a little clue in the spelling of WhiskEy!! :-D

I hadn't realised that James Bolam married Susan Jameson before starring with her in When the Boat Comes In let alone New Tricks!
I watched the first episode of When the Boat............ this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it, I didn't watch it when it was on originally!!

Glad you enjoyed it Mick, I certainly did, and will probably give it a nostalgic whirl too. Cant think of any recent drama series that I have been bothered or interested enough by to watch.

What is the episode title of the Saint which features 5 actors who have appeared in Bond movies :?:

Actor 1 (Goldfinger (1964), You Only Live Twice (1967));
Actor 2 (The Spy Who Loved Me (1977));
Actor 3 (You Only Live Twice (1967));
Actor 4 (Dr. No (1962)).

Heres a snapshot of Rog in that episode. Unfortunately IMCDB will not help because yes the assembled car spotters on that site have failed to capture the brief moment that car appears in the episode.
