2004 407 2.2 Petrol
Have replaced the Engine Bay Fusebox with a second hand unit but now have these problems.
Sometimes will crank but not fire, turn the Key off and try again and it will go but ESP Fault on Dash.
Codes are

Heating/ventilation
F702 Passenger Compartment humidity Sensor Fault

Under inflation detection
U1108 Absence of communication on the CAN with the Engine ECU
U1105 Absence of communication on the CAN with the steering wheel angle sensor

Power Steering electric pump unit
U1105 Speed of rotation of the steering wheel information fault

ABS/Traction control
U1325 Communication with gyroscope accelerometer sensor
U1305 Steering wheel angle sensor
U1105 Steering wheel angle sensor
U1125 Communication with gyroscope accelerometer sensor

injection/ignition
P0571 Incoherence between 2 stop switches
Help please!!!!

Most of those U faults are communication faults.

Are you sure you replaced the Engine fuse box with the correct one - these are not all the same and if incorrect you will have communications problems between the BSI and other systems.

Ok, I have a working Fusebox that is the correct model, but all the errors are still present. Lots of those errors seem related to steering. Could it be a Com2000 fault?.

Most of those U codes you posted would appear to be related to communication with the steering wheel angle sensor which is linked to the ESP / ABS ECU which is why you are getting that warning lamp on.

Looking at the other codes, they all point to no signal from the steering wheel angle sensor. So first thing I would ask is have you had the steering wheel off at all or changed the comms unit?

The steering wheel angle sensor may just need recalibrating, or you could have an electrical connection fault / data network fault. The power steering fault code is also related to the steering wheel angle sensor, so that is the first place I would be looking.

Today I tried a different Com2003 unit, but still getting the same errors. I was unable to use Diagbox to calibrate the Steering angle sensor due to the ESP Fault.

I have heard of faulty Brake light swirches causing these faults, is that correct?

Is there an ABS/ESC ECU?

If you have ABS , you'll have an ABS ECU. If you have ESP, then you'll have an ESP ECU that handles both functions. As you have a Steering wheel angle sensor, you have ESP as that is used to inform the ESP ECU of the rate of turn and angle of the steering wheel to determine trajectory correction.

But the ESP system is highly integrated with other systems like the power steering, the Engine ECU and BSI for example. So a problem in any one of these areas can affect the oither systems.

Your P0571 could also be the issue as your P0571 fault code means that the 2 sets of data it is getting from the brake switch is inconsistent or doesn't make sense. As this is also linked to the ESP system, it will switch off cruise control and speed limiter functions and the advanced ESP specific functions system itself, leaving standard braking only whilst the fault is active. So yes, I woiuld certainly consider replacing the brake switch first if there has been no other issues to suspect the steering angle sensor or comms unit and you are not having issues with the wipeors or lkights playing up. These will wear out and if it's on the original switch after 17+ years, that';s a good place to start.

Today I removed the Brake light Switch. It has 4 terminals with 1 pair being Normally Open and the other pair Normally Closed. They both switched when I pressed the plunger. Is this correct?
I also removed the BSI/Glovebox Fusebox and checked all plugs and fuses, everything appeared to be fine.
On first start up I had no error messages at all, however after stopping the Engine and restarting it all my faults came back.
Is it correct if I replace this BSI I need to replace the Engine ECU and have matching Transponder Chips from the Key?
Any Ideas???

Yes, this switch is behaving correctly. One side (open - closed) is for the brakes lights system, while the other (closed - open) is for the cruise control.

I wouldn't be going down that route just yet. Get your brake switch replaced first of all as without that operational, it is going to distort the other issues you have with the ESP / ABS system because they all rely on the brake switch too.

It is a much cheaper thing to replace than the BSI, because yes, you will need a matched engine ECU, BSI and Transponder chips in your fobs.
