mickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jul 2020, 18:58 Supplementary question from the coffee clip, how could you link that to a milestone which made an appearance on here with 3 swans a week or so ago? 50 points for a TOH answer!!
mickthemaverick wrote: 08 Jul 2020, 19:08 .... the link I have got, it is a 3 step link! but indisputable!! :-D
So the milestone that appeared with the 3 Swans was this

and a 3 step link from the milestone to "the coffee clip" is required.

do we have to forensically watch the actual coffee clip from the programme, or is the link just to the coffee set itself as represented in the pic steve copied into his post from your earlier one. :?:

The Coffee set itself is J&G Meakin Studio Cadiz Coffee Set Blue Star Pattern

Sorry about that, had to go and break up a cat fight with the hose!!

Now the link is from the scene with the coffee set in it but not the set itself ! Forensics shouldn't be necessary just a casual watch.

Many clues can be bought for 10 points a time but you only have 50 to play with!! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Well after that little piece of information it all falls into place. Its in the spoiler and like you say a casual watch is all that's required.
Spoiler: show
So the intermediate link is Bergerac, thats Charlie Hungerford (Actor Terence Alexander) and the Milepost is in Hungerford linking the coffee scene with the milepost. Spotted Jean Anderson of Brothers fame in another episode of Paul Temple the other day.

Dont quite follow that Mick do I need to watch Paul Temple again, or are we going back to the original Edward Craven Walker and his very successful original Astro Lava Lamp?

No other info required, this is a makers name (with astronomical sales!) visible, though partially masked, in the picture I posted of my china stack. Just some eagle eyed scrutiny required! :-D

I'd moved on to George Sewell who played Sammy Carson and also starred in UFO, which may have been mentioned on the FCF somewhere before. On to your china stack now!

Try this very easy one while I ponder your stack.....what's this property called?

Well spotted Bobins, and quite correct, take 50 points :rofl2: ; however I had not spotted that one myself when I set the question!! There is another, and not on a brown cardboard box, which is the one I had intended :-D

Not sure where Borg came from Neil but it's not the answer on the card! :-D

Japanese telescope maker Mick, I thought that could be the hieroglyphics at the other end of the bobins box!

Meade it is, take 50 points too!

Not got any real workings, I just watched the video you posted guessing that it would be after the driving gloves, as that makes chronological sense with your postings, and then read the name Causeway on the door they went through after meeting under the AD 1615 sign!! I didn't watch any further because I hate watching British films with foreign language!! :-D

Yes I amended my post above Mick. The property is on Causeway in Horsham and is known as Flagstones.

I have watched three or four Paul Temples now in German with English Subtitles. There is a reason for that, The BBC lost the vast majority of their archive of the show but it was a joint production with a German tv company and they still have all of the episodes for the German market. Having got used to it I actually enjoy the German. I think it suits the Paul Temple character in particular. It seems to focus more on the dialogue than the action. Some of the
action scenes are really terrible acting. :-D

Cheers Neil
