Ok, so as I thought a complete nightmare. These commercials are never simple, having both Ford and Fiat collaboration - means mixed tech. Even with the VIN, the data is ambiguous as it could still have multiple options. We cannot compare these commercials unless we are comparing the exact same engine and management systems - they are entirely different, so what is right for one may not be relevant for another.

@Citgrrroen: As for your particular Relay - it does have a particle filter.
This has the 2.2 Hdi 130 Puma C Ford engine. Although it shows options for the 6.2 and 6.3 Euro standards, it won't have these for the year, as they also had SCR with Urea systems.

So for the year, yours would appear to be Euro 5 emission standard. So although it has a DPF, it does not show an additive tank. So this system should have a small fuel dispenser and an injector for injecting fuel directly into the exhaust.

So I suspect for the mileage your DPF may well be end of life. Although it doesn't use a Cerine-based additive found in Eolys and other additives (which cannot be burnt off in the filter and will lead to the eventual clogging of the filter), there will still be other material like engine deposits in the oil and carbon that also won't be burnt off.

Are you getting any fault codes logged?

All DPF's whether they use Eolys or not will eventually clog & require replaced or cleaned out, when the soot is burnt off it leaves ash in the filter which can't be burnt off, it's the ash that will eventually clog the filter or Ash & Eolys on 'wet' systems.
