Alan Gray - the original maker of Yarg (and who reversed his name to come up with 'yarg') -
er...brilliant?

Have you ever wondered how often products are described as award winning from Fish and Chips, to sausages, to haggis where virtually every butcher in Scotland has award winning haggis, to beer, where again virtually every craft brewery is award winning.

Nice to know Cornwall's Skinners Brewery is award winning so fill your boots FCF members, its all on the house at the Lamorna Wink tonight

Pint of Betty's for Mick but I've gone for Sennen. Not sure I get the Cornish way of serving it with side orders of dry porridge and hops :-D

On the FCF obvious-obscure scale 1 to 10, where does the link between Bass/Beer Trays and Skinners beers lie with 0 being totally obvious and 10 being totally obscure?

Now that was thirsty work chaps, another pint of Betty's for me please while I tell you a story about Skinner's link with Bass. Many moon have come and gone since the Stones brewery collaborated with Bass to produce a fine brewing yeast. It was so good that Bass bought out Stones in the 80's I believe and carried on brewing into the 90's. However when Bass stopped brewing, the yeast was rescued by Skinners and they still use the same strains in all the beers they produce. Or something like that!! :-D

You're not struggling, are you Neil ?
The answer isn't that obvious, but it is on Skinner's website, but you have to open a secret door by turning the beer tap to the right to find it
The answer is related to Bass beer in general.

Edit: Mick's got the answer, and his prize is that he gets to buy us all another round at Skinners

Yes Apologies chaps in my research I have just been to "A Bar at the Folies-Bergère" where this bloke Manet was putting the finishing touches to the red triangle on the bottle of Bass.

They might have to go down to the cellar to see if there's an odd bottle or two hiding down there as these are both out of season, but I'll have either a bottle of Betty's Big Sister or Jingle Knocker if Mick'd be so kind :)
