Came across this in my travels which may be of interest Mick. Not sure where they get the "Letter" index from but for "L" there are plenty of locations in and around Watford. not just for The Avengers but quite a list of TV Series.

They have divided the area they cover into a grid an labelled each grid square with a letter. The letters L and M cover watford and places east. The maps are on the right side of the index page. A lot of the places depicted have changed considerably now. I will have a better browse tomorrow but I am on the phone at the moment and I find browsing with the small screen is a pain!! :-D

Well I think I'll make the next link in the chain from this wonderful resource referred to earlier, bearing in mind it doesn't just cover the Avengers.

http://avengerland.theavengers.tv/

So I was looking for an "Avengers Pub" last night with mixed results so is there another random pub or location to be found from within the pages of the avengerland locations database so I am going for the "About Britain" tab for locations outside "Avengerland"

Well first up for a lazy choice is this, not a pub but a Station featured in "The Champions" , Episode "The Body Snatchers"

The Chain...make the next link

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

..and here it is...episode on dailymotion

Abergynolwyn railway station is a station on the Talyllyn Railway near Abergynolwyn, Gwynedd, in Mid-Wales. It is 6.55 miles (10.54 km) from Tywyn Wharf. The name 'Abergynolwyn' means 'Mouth-of-the-River-with-a-Whirlpool'.

So Might as well have a pint in the Railway inn

and in another what are the chances of that happening, on draught from an oxfordshire brewery, in the depths of Wales at the Railway Inn Abergynolwyn......Hobgoblin Gold......and guess what my selection was this evening....yes a bottle of Hobgoblin Gold :-D

So as far as The Champions with artistic licence go all that action took place in Wales, but obviously we know know that that the location of the final car chase was Grim's Dykes (Hotel now) near the Harrow Viewpoint nearer the studios in London, designed by Norman Shaw, for painter Frederick Goodhall, and lived in for many years by W.S.Gilbert of Gilbert and Sullivan Fame.

If anyone would like to take on the next link, join in.

It seems to me that the mention of W S Gilbert and his partner always brings up an unruly bunch of seafaring fellows. But for the next link where might you find their Merry Maidens and how many are there?

Well I may be on the wrong track but I would go for 19, and you would find them in Cornwall
G&S do have this song in the gondoliers so maybe that is the link between the two

I love it when this happens - you've found the right maidens but because you havn't been precise enough with the location the link hasn't popped out! :-D

Now The precise location is in the middle of a field in Cornwall, but is the middle of a field nearish Penzance the link you have on the card :?: with the G&S link to Pirates of Penzance.

or is is a more convoluted link to the Lamorna Group of Artists and the true story of the love triangle between British artist Alfred Munnings, his friend Gilbert Evans and Florence Carter-Wood as portrayed in the Novel and Film Summer in February!

Here's the answer card which depicts the list of attractions Penzance has to offer:

My question mentioned the "unruly bunch of seafaring fellows" from Gilbert & Sullivan who I deemed to be the Pirates of Penzance who had maidens in Penzance!! Or something like that :-D

Well the chain has taken us down to Cornwall, and near Lamorra.

Free vitrual Pint for FCF members at this quaintly named pub in Lamorra
