In a box? , selling spares then.

I think Kenny is right ... Well I hope, it's a breather , the nipple had this hose on it but it baffles me why the put a bolt in it.

Trying to put the engine back as it should be so I can tackle the vibrations I get.
After removing the egr blanking plate I'm wondering what else was changed, hence the question on the hose with a bolt

Do let us know when you've all done your Hercule Poirot number - I'd like to know what that bolt in the pipe is for - as it does look a bit of a Carlos Fandango bodge to me.

I believe the vacuum hoses for the EGR solenoid have been removed which will need replacing.

Nah, the EGR hose is in place, just not nicely routed.
I'm getting a fellow c5 owner who has the same engine to compare.

Is your engine the 2.0 163hp (DW10CTED4) year 2011, mine is 2010 model.

Is the egr still fitted to the car or has it been removed.

EGR is still there, and hopefully working, yes I have the 2011 model, , seems there are not many schematics of this one.

The schematics I have previously put up are the same for this engine. Citroen have not provided a separate set for the DW10CTED4 between years. Any mods or changes are usually listed separately, just for info.

As Marc said any mods or changes are USUALLY listed.

I'm still trying to figure out what that pipe is. It is starting to annoy me why someone does something like this.

Are the coolant pipes for the EGR still attached.

The cooling pipe is under the EGR, the other one is integrated in the EGR it self next to the exhaust inlet.. I presume this as there are two ports on the unit.
I wondering what was done when the blanking plate. All the 3 solinoids are connected and working,
I think it's a relieve pipe, which lets out any fluid from some where.

It's the same mistery as the missing item underneath next to the additive tank.

I don't have anything on my exhaust at that position and the extra pipe/adapter near to it. I have no idea what that's for.

Finally the pipe with the bolt again I have no idea what is/was for.

FOUND IT !!
CYLINDER HEAD DIAGRAM.jpg
Its called the evacuation pipe, 850 mm long , which is much longer than mine, but I guess there is no need to close that.

I'm not sure if you all use CATCAR.INFO , but is surely has all the diagrams and identification for all cars

Thanks for the help , much appreciated

No, we use the official PSA parts - and we do have this diagram, but it has not been at all obvious what the pipe is or where it was going to, which makes identification difficult remotely on a Forum.

Additionally, that pipe is not mentioned anywhere that I can find so far - so quite obscure, but as long as you're happy!

Yes, that is the plastic pipe which fits onto the cylinder head but my concern is the pipe with the bolt in it.

Where does this come from and where did it go previously or has it been added to another pipe.

Thanks Marc and Kenny
Does either of you have the EGR removal method, so I can clean out the EGR.

I think some might have thought it was a vac tube and consequently blocked it thinking it was open... a wild guess

It's a bit lengthy, but I'll try and put something up tomorrow if I get time. The EGR has to come off with the exchanger as one unit being as they are assembled using a template at the factory. Trying to reassemble without the template would create positioning tensions on the cylinder head, adversely affecting the fixings and the sealings of the module.
