I was in the middle of posting this but Bobins seems to have comprehended it better than me on first reading!

So can you make those links and explain where "the house that has no knocker" comes in?
The whole thing is here Mick and I have read it once. Without picking up what is real about the story, maybe everything. I'll have another read. So the Yacht is called "The House with No Knocker" and also Titania, and Robert Stevenson and IKB were friends met in Egypt and died of the same illness. Maybe I need a second read :-D

I think you have made an admirable job of that between you while I was getting enthused about Pete Waterman opening a new station on the Stapleford Miniature Railway!! I remember the delectable Mrs Peel being tied to the railway, a knuckle biting moment for me in those days :-D

Sometimes people come up with clever names. Take TWAIN, for example (normally associated with scanners). I wonder how many people know what TWAIN stands for?

If we're straying into TV land then I'm pretty sure that the Box Tunnel was the place that the vampire played by Aiden Turner committed a (fictional, of course) massacre on a train in the series Being Human.

Well I was going to link to a famous Avengers location pub appearing in "The Maneater of Surrey Green", and maybe quite local for Mick, but I have to say its another one of those disappointing websites.....A pub which doesnt even tell you what beer they sell :-D

Have to look for another one I'm afraid

This is their home page. What a terrible photo "£10 Minimum Card Payment" on the blackboard

Is that The Five Horseshoes at Little Berkhamstead Neil? Had many meals there, in fact my daughter in law did her best to burn the place down! :-D She was browsing the menu when she let the top of it get too close to the candle on the table and I had to use the rest of my tonic to save our lives!! :-D

Right football's finished so I could look at the pub on my laptop and I see it is the Three Horseshoes at Letchmore Heath. Used to drink there as a teenager but only been there once in the last twenty years. We had a very disappointing meal about three years ago so we've not been back!! At least we didn't try to burn that one down!! :-D

Lotus Elan SE2 i believe, the car that enthralled me as a teenager. In the performance tables in the back of What Car or was it Autocar, not sure, it was listed as 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, a trifle optimistic I should think but it was good enough for me. It started my lifelong adoration of Colin Chapman and all he touched and gave me something to work for. I have owned 2 elans but not an SE2!! :-D
