Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Now I didn't bother with the regular characters as I thought the link was episode dependent!! Nevertheless it's comforting to know that our Welwyn Garden neighbours have produced some stars and I wouldn't have known that without the background searching. Now I know the answer I'll give my frozen memory a chance to thaw out and meanwhile a quick visit to the john is called for!

I believe you will find that on the wall of the three swans in the high street of a town that had a very bad day in August 1987!!

Indeed it is, and a historic Inn the Three Swans with plenty to get your teeth into here if you like a bit of history.

The place name Sarum on the milepost is a name for Salisbury I had not come across before. With the Three Swans being halfway-ish between Oxford and Salisbury.

Sarum was the original settlement in Roman times around which Salisbury as we know it grew. All the info here:NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑17 Jun 2020, 19:13

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I was near to Hungerford on Sunday (close to Dun Mill Lock), and I will be there again this coming Sunday (close to a church), as I visit my Mum every Sunday, mainly to drop off the shopping (as, until recently, she had to stay 'shielding' as, due to her age, she was classified as vulnerable (try telling the two guys who tried to steal the generator off her boat; they would strongly disagree with her being vulnerable!!)). I also spend a bit of time with her (keeping 2 meters apart, and with comfortable folding chairs).

No it isnt that one Mick if my information is right, and I did have a virtual drive up there to check out the gates.
The key and where it sprang from is that episode of The Champions. You may even have pulled in opposite those entrance gates and enjoyed this view.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Hmmm the plot thickens, this is the image which I thought it was, pay attention to the gate pillar, hinge/light, brick formation and the ball on top and you will see why but the gates themselves are wrong however I thought they may have been swapped for filming:

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I thought you would have been familiar that viewpoint Mick. Only 4 Miles-ish from Watford.
Let me know if you are still struggling. I will give you a very obscure clue to the viewpoint, and the property opposite should flow easily.
Two seconds
