My thinking
Spoiler: show
They all stood in for Eamonn Andrews on "Whats My Line" when he was otherwise engaged, and I guess you may have been paddling around in UKgameshow.com after Quiz Ball got a mention in the Pickled Egg Quiz.

Spot on there Neil, excellent!!
Spoiler: show
I was actually following up Ted Moult who I spotted on the Forest team in Quiz Ball and I remembered his double glazing, Fit the best Fit Everest, and then I knew he was in The Archers not long before he committed suicide, shot himself I believe, and then I remembered himappearing with Lady Isobel Barnett on What's My Line and researching that got me the question!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I find the make up of those teams which are laid out in full for every year fascinating. World cup winners, and names you havent thought about for years and years. I remember Arsenal's Ian Ure who was quite a star at Quizball from one of those football collectors cards. Dave Hilley on the Notts forest team used to play for Newcastle. The anglo scottish element was also a fascination with teams like Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath and Fergies Falkirk randomly appearing. :-D

Chelsea had Lance Percival as a Celebrity! on one of the shows.

Has everyone got their copy of the Beatles album "The Beatles" otherwise known as the White Album to hand? It may help.

Gibbo posted up a video of one of our TV Science boffins on POTD. He also has appeared on Harry Hill's TV Burp performing a song off the Beatles White Album with a Paul McCartney wig on. What is the song, (easy enough), but why was it chosen as the play-out song of the programme?

Easy enough to find...

The wiki page for Jim Al-Khalili tells us he appeared in
Harry Hill's TV Burp Series 10, as Paul McCartney singing "Helter Skelter" (Avalon TV) in 2011
and for the curious that episode (S10 E15) Has Harry compare Brian Cox's filming location shots which are all around the globe , while Jim for his location shots, slides down a helter skelter at a UK Seaside resort.

Well I would say that James has hit the nail on the head so I'll just add a surprising fact to me...

It was built by Europe's biggest shipbuilder and the 4th Biggest shipbuilder in the world (according to wiki).... its as British as tagliatelli :-D

Sorry to say James that the Queen's jubilee was celebrated by their gathering in June. This gathering was to bring down the curtain on the Olympic Sailing Regatta as part of the closing ceremony on 11th August. You are quite right about Bermuda, the port of registration being Hamilton:

I couldn't help wondering if that was chosen as part of the "Empire Heritage" which is so encompassed by the whole Cunard principles. However as Neil has indicated it is, in a way, sad that the ships are built away from Britain yet continue to promote Britain's traditions and ethos throughout their passages. Cunard are having a new ship built which is due for delivery in 2022 and I wonder if it will be called Queen Anne? :-D

One thing that very much irritated the majority of my family was that Mum (and her narrow boat) was invited to take part in the small boats celebration of The Queens' Diamond Jubilee, and she felt she would not have been able to manage it.   If we had known she had been asked she would have had to fight off numerous family members all volunteering to help out! I am not sure if I have forgiven her that faux pas! I would have made damned sure I was there to help, even if I had to take unpaid leave!

A completely random quiz question for this morning:
Basil Brush's voice, and the cartoon character Dick Dastardly were based on which British actor ?
And no cheating by Googling or DDG'ing
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Not completely random Bobins, linked to a PM I sent yesterday to Neil strangely enough, in which I quoted Basil would you believe?
I remember Basil performing with Mr Derek which was Derek Fowlds more recently of Yes Minister and Heartbeat fame, but I cannot remember the name of the voice man. However at a guess could the voice have been based on Peter Sellars from his goon show days? :)

Now Neil, linking time. Can you connect that clip to a very long running British Soap Opera?

British not neighbours or home and away
Soap Opera......not Dad's Army and JLM, Not the world of Wooster with IC
Long Running......So thats Coronation Street Eastenders and Emmerdale are mere youths in comparison, or maybe if you have strayed into radio the Archers.

TOH without research I know Arthur Lowe good old Captain Mainwaring was in Corrie ...Ernest Swinney or something was his character name so a link could be via Dad;'s army, but maybe JLM was in Corrie too.

Have to do some research if I'm wrong :-D
