Hard to quickly think up a hugely significant track but I see Bennie and the Jets is on, and the good folk of East Coast Mainline will not have heard it since I put it on at York station many many years ago.

That looks tremendous, make it three of those, then we can end the trip here and begin the post mortem on the train! So I'll put up my last track of the trip which I think we've abided by:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Right so long for now Mick and Bob 20 Minutes out of Berwick and we are already at Acklington. Just lugging the bike on to the platform, just me getting off, nice of them to stop.

Au Revoir, but I will tackle the outstanding Quiz Questions and post them up. Good job the Flying Scotsman has Wi Fi these days. Give a toast as you cross the water at Newcastle and safe trip home.

All the Best
Neil

Sorry I missed your alighting there Neil!! I had a phone call from my man in Spain and I was tied up for nearly an hour!! Bob's gone to the buffet car to see the travelling chef about an egg and cress sandwich and a couple of beers so he could be missing until Doncaster! I'm watching out for York due in about 6 minutes I think! Reflecting on the last 8 days and its been a real pleasure to share the adventure with such interesting and intelligent people, I think we've had a ball. I'm looking forward to your answers on the outstanding questions but I probably won't do any more research myself tonight. I'll update you more when we get closer to home. Cheers for Now :) :)

On the way we will pass through Horncliffe:
Pennine Cycleway Quiz Question Day 8 Number 6
What is this village's claim to fame?
My answer
Spoiler: show
Its the most northerly village in England
Neil and I were talking to the beekeeper here and I asked him about fishing the river. He said I should talk to Brian Palmer if I wanted to know about the fishing. The trouble is he didn't say anymore so:
I reckon I could pick him out in an ID parade in that garb!

Pennine Cycleway Quiz Question Day 8 Number 8
Who is Brian Palmer and where might I find him?
Spoiler: show
Brian Palmer Head Boatman at Tweedhill tells me that their fish took a small (size 14) black and orange fly but as the week progressed and the sky cleared the salmon disappeared. I haven’t been out myself this week, but as Brian said, “You’ve missed nowt!”
Leaving these outstanding as yet

2/2 so far!! Keep it up, I did have Brian Palmer down as a gillie but Head Boatman sounds much better :-D Out of interest Brian Palmer is also a car bodywork expert who owns and runs his own bodyshop in St Albans under the "Chips Away" banner. I have used him for all my body repairs which were beyond my scope. He made a great job of the Stag's bonnet and nobody has ever commented on it! :)

MIck few little clues needed if you are in a generous mood

I've literally driven from Chainbridge to Berwick and cant find that house the nearest one --and it isnt that was Dene cottage an airBnB luxury property close to Paxton House.

and Kimmerston......drawn a blank so far

and the scrapyard......unless its a corner of Chainbridge honey farm.....still drawing a blank

Cheers Neil
