Check out the buildings in a hamlet we passed through on our route!! Next clue would be the answer!!
Meanwhile 3 pints of Auld Hemp it is while we browse the menu! :)

Soup and Haddock would be lovely although may have had the lamb if it wasnt the double portion bit. Happy with the haddock though .

OH yes and to save further anxiety while eating my meal and supping my beer can I have one side,

...the answer to the Mungo Jerry in the summertime question linking it with Chollerford to Wark...

The falcon downed in his home territory.

I presume I should not be having a drink when you reveal your answer, dont want to shower other diners with Auld Hemp!

I'll give you that Mick, pints already on me before I looked it up.

Well done, and it was fair. What I need to know know, as you relax in your moment of satisfaction, is the thought process of the question setting. I think the church may have come first, and then Mungo Jerry, but if it did how astonishing that today is the anniversary exactly 50 years to the Day of Mungo Jerry's first live performance at the Hollywood Festival (UK) of "In the Summertime" 24 hours after it was released on 22nd May 1970.

Time to tuck into my unspecified Soup and crusty Roll!

Now heres a music trivia question inspired by catching a glimpse of the Osmonds (5 of them not little Jimmy or Marie) doing a Stevie Wonder song on the TV as I got the pints in.
TOH only
Can you name 5 out of 5 of the osmonds one point each
Can you name 5 out of 5 of the Jackson 5 one point each

Just for fun!

definitely spooky that one. as you suggested the process was basically - let's do a music question - look at the route - DDG Simonburn - wiki page - listed buildings and it jumped out at me as being unusual and I had a perfect song to link to it - and unlike James bobs your uncle!! :-D

As we are traversing the Tyne's route perhaps this would be an appropriate start to the evening's music entertainment, I have a much better option known well to all three of us which I intend to play later!!

How were the starters Gentlemen? I've invited Black Moss to join us for our mains :-D

I've always liked the High House Farm Beers, Brewery is about a dozen miles away. So I'll add another to our supping list....

The meat was superb though the toast was a little dry, hopefully the Black Moss will sort that out!! Bob is still munching his beets so an interval between courses is called for! :)

The Tyne is often referred to as "the water", as in my dalliance around Gateshead Hebburn and Jarrow looking for a working charge and was glad to get "over the water" again. 100% inaccurate of course because in reality I went "under the water" through the Tyne tunnel.

The Water of Tyne is a melancholic folk tune about such matters....unfortunately I think Sting murders it so heres a version I like better. I prefer it in a lady's voice.

That inspired me to find the next.....................hold on Bob wants me at the bar...........................he's got another round in from the sheepdog theme:

3 pints of
BFTW
BFTW
on the way with dessert.

as I was saying, that track inspired me to dig out this video I found when I was meandering but didn't use, old hat to some but I enjoyed it:
