2004 Citroen relay 2.2 HDI & Citroen C5 2.2 HDI

Post by bnd »

Thanks in advance for any replies..

Does any one know if the engine / gearbox in both above mentioned vehicles are the same?

From memory I think the C5 2.2 gearbox is a 6 speed ?

The gearbox in my relay is 5 speed.

I believe the 2.2 HDi fitted to a 2004 Relay is an 8v engine & a 2.2 HDi C5 of the same era is a 16v engine. Both totally different.

yes Wheeler is right, bnd..

the 2.2 8 valve appears to be an ok if slightly odd thing. It shares a lot of parts with the 110HP 2.0 HDi engine, yet seems to have less power and torque :)!?

Mine has increased output now, works well and suits the application ok for what it is - an engine designed in the 90's to replace the XU series as far as I know.

I haven't looked at the gearbox ID much, but being a van, I imagine some parts are uprated/HD.
