Re: On Your Virtual Bike:The Pennine Cycleway (&quiz)
I have to confess to being similarly stuffed and not in need of any more food at all. So after a shower and change I will join you in the Stone Trough bar at around 7.45 for a swift lubrication and a track or two maybe, then McCulloughs Bar sounds good for the serious part of the evening. Bob will almost certainly join you for an Indian as he was born with hollow legs!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Dont worry about the canoes we will communally take care of them! or the brake discs and pads for that matter....I mean how many times have you done discs and pads? You will know every technique there is even if the discs are welded to the hubs.
Hopefully a quick job and back with us ASAP.

You have made an even better choice for later than I thought, I've just had a look at the room info pack and found this little gem:

Re: On Your Virtual Bike:The Pennine Cycleway (&quiz)
And now the good news. I solved the problem of assembling the Brompton. Turns out the owner B&B where I stayed last night, well her son runs this bike shop, and they sell Bromptons, so I persuaded her to persuade her son to open up the shop especially for me at first light(ish) so I could buy a ready assembled Brompton. Job done I've taken a short cut to try and catch you lot up - whereas you've been cycling up hill and down dale, I've been taking a flatter route I've been frantically cycling through the old mines and caving systems of the region to catch up with you. If you think about it, it makes sense that mine is a quicker route - you've had to follow the curvature of the Earth, whereas I've cycled in a straight and direct route through the Earth I've had to pop up to the surface to buy some more carbide for the lamp, and I paused a while around Buxton to top up their mineral water supplies , but I should be able to meet up with you tonight...... providing I can get this satnav to work undergroundmickthemaverick wrote: ↑20 May 2020, 18:44 And now I have to deliver the news. That phone call was asking for my assistance in a real world crisis which has cropped up.......... Fortunately Bob will be able to take my bike on his trailer if someone else would please tow the canoe trailer tomorrow and I will then be fully equipped to ride again on Friday. Any suggestions?
It won't affect this evenings plans of course!
See you later

This could be useful for selecting some local ales Mick. I've just been down the Moorhouses Burnley Brewery list and selected the "on yer Bike"

Re: On Your Virtual Bike:The Pennine Cycleway (&quiz)
As I am not around in the morning to help, Bob asked me to layout a proposed route with stops before I have a few beers so I should be able to track you down by time v distance. So I am suggesting the following stops and I will rejoin when I can: Any changes you make I will keep an eye on postings.
Morning Coffee in Gargrave:
Lunch in Settle:
Afternoon Tea in Ingleton:
B&B in Dent, a change from a pub:
