Can you rember the sketch where a character (probably Harry Enfield) would walk into the Rovers Return/Woolpack/Queen Vic and order "a pint of unspecified"

I'm afraid I ordered a "Soup of unspecified".....luckily I like most things so was quite pleased with Pea and Ham of a consistency reminiscent of warm wallpaper paste...just how I like it!

On to the Hot Pot......

Well the Blue Nun and the Hot Pot were the perfect combination, but I think I'll have a pint of Derbyshire's own Barnes Wallis Session Ale just in case the bread and butter pudding is a bit claggy.

But I'll put this very easily lookupable question
Pennine Cycleway Quiz Question Number 7
Where was Barnes-Wallis Born?

Well I thought the hotpot did Betty proud!! Very tasty indeed though I do think the Cumbria Way was better than the Mateus to go with it. Bob has now ordered a Tia Maria coffee to go with his cheese board and, well it would be rude not to join him! :-D Besides got to keep him away from the jukebox or we'll be getting The Seekers on!! To make sure how about a bit of Mark:

I'll leave Barnes -Wallis for a while!! :-D

I would have thought those would come with Steve's doughnut board :-D
With regard to your change of ale I wonder if Patricia Highsmith knew Barnes Wallis? :?: =D>

I've got a cafetiere of Coffee, a few pints of ale, and a decent amount of Blue Nun inside of me, over to the jukebox and here is one many will not have heard of for a while, surprisingly called Cousin Norman.

But with the line in it....

And if you happen to pass by, please

Mick ask Bob what Judith Durham's birth name was.....and prepare yourself for a "what are the chances of that happening?" moment :-D

Brilliant!! He knew the answer straight away, a bit uncanny that!! :-D Now I'm afraid I'm going to have to make this my last selection for tonight but I will leave you with a poser to sleep on:

Where might we find this little beauty tomorrow?

and my retiring choice has to be:

Agreed Mick, and my last selection will be from Casablanca just for the "of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world" element of Judith Durham's birth name and the Hostelry that was chosen this evening.

I'll not be on my bike too early in the morning.....

Enjoyed today though almost feels as if we really did it :-D

Cheers Neil

So to Wrap up day 1 I think we did 9 quiz questions..which is a decent daily target for the ride. To answer any of the questions there is no need to do the virtual hard slog on a virtual bike....really anyone can join in and please do.

Of course the more travelling companions joining in the better, and remember its a virtual ride, do a day, or a few days, do all the way to Berwick, dip in and out join in if you can.

So questions 8 an 9 from yesterday are...
Pennine Cycleway Quiz Question Day1 Number 8
What was Judith Durham singer with the Seekers original name?
Pennine Cycleway Quiz Question Day1 Number 9
