That would make a really challenging 'I'm not a robot' check, Neil.

Those of you still paying attention at the back of the class will remember that I've given infrequent and unpredictable updates about some of the wildlife at work over the years. Previously we've had a ducklings rescue senario, and some cygnet interventions. Here's this year's collection of cygnets - only born this week as far as I can tell. For a couple of points, and without looking it up - give an example of a collective noun for a group of swans.... there are quite a few accepted terms, so you're in with a chance :)

I know three collective nouns for swans: a gaggle, more often used for geese, a herd, used when many families are in close contact and my favourite a bevy, sounds like a pint is called for! :-D

A "Lot" of Swans or in North-east dialect more often than not a "canny few" as in the reply to a question
Did you see any Swans on the River At Berwick?

The lockdown here hasn't been too bad, but I could absolutely murder a decent pint of Abbot ale.

Deffo time for a virtual gathering at The Woolpack, Elstead, Surrey (not far from where we lived), where it comes straight from the 'wood' behind the bar.

We're thinking of driving to the UK next year, so maybe...
