Peugeot Partner 1.6 HDI Oil Leak

Post by Steve007 »

Hi all,
New member, first off read upto 30plus page & I must say the knowledge & tips on here is terrific,so many thanks guys.

Couldn't start new thread as being new..
Peugeot partner 16hdi 2010
have had the van for 6mths,when I bought it they said slight oil leak, which I did check & there's been no problems,
But with reading on forums like this one am not sure if its oil/diesel..it seems in 2 places 1 near the breather near turbo(only slightly)waiting on new o ring,
The main 1 I is near the timing belts side the first 3 injectors covered in oil( I think) 4 one nothing on it.
After googling 1 YouTube said the bolts need tighten up( but need 7mm allen key to try that..
Anyway thanks guys and hope someone can help us out..
Added couple off pics 1st compare 3-4 injectors 2nd the leak from the left hand side

Have a look at this video - it shows where oil can be leaking from the crankcase breather:

My guess is that you need to wash that part of engine with strong water pressure, than you can see with engine running where oil or diesel is leaking..Probably compression one of injectors because even camshaft cover is wet(easy to fix)..My opinion

Definitely NOT with a pressure washer though  ! That would be asking for trouble. There are a lot of sensitive electronics in there and using a pressure washer is the best way to ruin the vehicle.

It just needs carefully cleaning with some detergent.

Yes, keep cleaning products and resultant crap out of the engine innards.

Rather than soap, or even washing-up liquid, a proper water soluble engine degreaser should be used. There was a big debate on the best product to use a year or so here but my favourite is Jizer. I think that Gunk is awful as it turns slimy when mixed with water. Others disagree but the choice is yours.

Ok thanks Paul
Will check the product out or similar if I can get it local to me,
I no it seemed stupid but just wasnt sure if it got into the engine it might damage it with the muck..
Thanks Steve
