Before everyone starts shooting at me I will add that the car was sold in Asia primarily while the maker promoted a different model in Europe. The european car did earn a reputation for rivalling the main competition's Carinas and Corollas in boredom levels! The correct maker has been named in the answers so far!!

I wouldn't be surprised but I have not found a taxi version!! The European model (which was usually a hatchback version) was very popular among minicabbers!!

I know it is Nissan, but there are several possible models, including the Cefiro, Laurel and Maxima.

Not as standard Steve, but depending on your pronunciation you could say it came before the Mediterranean or the Caspian or the Black for that matter!!
