I normally have my MOT about two weeks early just in case I Need to carry out any work if it fails and then it goes back still within the time still covered , but have read that some technical thing said you lose that bit of space as it gets out back to the date of the test ?? Even though legally its still covered ...
Welcome to the UK everything over chewed and complicated , no wonder this virus is baffleing them in the know.

Was it a bat a snake or a dog that started it ???

I looked on the gov.uk web site for a finish date and didn't find one. Can you provide a link for that please?
Not ideal to get the info from CarDealerMagazine, but they seem to think they've had confirmation from the DfT.

I can't find the information there I'm afraid.

Interesting. Shame I can't back it up on the gov's own web site.

It'd make sense to run the scheme for a year... until you realise the current MOT failure rate runs at a gnats over 30%. Wonder what an extra 6 months would do to that statistic ?

My MOT, which ran until May 15th, was extended some time between 9 pm Thurs 7th and 4 pm Saturday 9th so probably on the bank holiday Friday.

I had started to assume that if they weren't gradually getting more ahead, that maybe there was some manual intervention initiating blocks of a day at a time, but perhaps it is all automatic if it happened at midnight. I'd also started to wonder if I'd be emailing them on about Tuesday ...

Here in Spain (not all regions) the ITV can now be taken. Except there are apparently no appointments! It’s going to be a right old mess. Hopefully the examiners won’t take any shortcuts as the test is short enough as it is.

That's pretty political, I thought we didn't allow such tosh to be posted.
