I bet global warming has paused for a while! After 9/11 (and the USA stopping flights) the global temperature dropped by a degree or two Centigrade.

Paul-R wrote: 27 Mar 2020, 17:36 Can I suggest you change the first post in this thread, the viewtopic.php?t=64857 thread and the Donate page (next to the Donate button would be ideal I think) to make mention of the fact that this payment will show up as bxclub? I first asked about this in post 3 and it's been asked several times since.
?

Me thinks donating to the NHS is far more important.
Maybe but without these donations the forum won't be able to afford to make the, now payable, enquiries to the PSA database.

And why should it be an either/or situation anyway? Why not both?

Finally, my post was not an exhortation to pay. It was a request to forum staff to make it clearer to those who had paid that the name of the organisation that would appear as the recipient was one that they might not be expecting.

To be honest, your response was rather weird.

As the forum running costs, which now must include payments to PSA for chargeable information, are covered solely from donations from members, it is essential that part of the cost is borne by members requiring access to said information.
Without those donations - no forum.

Paul's suggestion about clarifying the "bxclub" link is a good one.
There has already been admin discussion about renaming the account, but there are some slight complications.
We're working on it.

Dead right about the importance of donations now - we do rely a lot on access to up-to-date PSA parts and service data, and the cost of this is significant now. Has hit members on other forums, too.

I realise that renaming the account is difficult. I'm just suggesting that notification of this strange (!) name be made more obvious.

Better. Now, is it possible to add a similar explanation next to or just below the 'Donate' button on this page? donate

Do any folk here have more recent experience of this, the margin of how close to expiry it gets before extension?

My MOT was due to expire on 15th May, so until the changes I would now be in the period I could go for a test.

I look at the online MOT check website. Still says 15th May, with a warning banner this expires soon.

Go back to the initial page there is still the message that they are working through this in date order. I would have hoped they could make faster progress by now than only a day at a time. If there is a small team, and too many go sick ... is this too pessimistic?

I wouldn't worry until you're very much closer to the time. Our car's date was changed during the day that it expired. Admittedly this was right at the beginning of the scheme so maybe they've advanced a day or two since. All I can say is don't worry, it'll be done in time.

Is there a special reason you want it changed early?

Could you check online a couple of more times a day to see exactly when it gets updated please? It'll be good to know how they're doing at the DVLA.
