Re: Passing the Time
Have you already used the excuse that the doors need to acclimatise first so that they don't shrink or warp after they've been hung ?

Not to mention that hanging was abolished in England in 1969!!

Never mind chisels, if you are hanging several doors, you need a router

No, you need the router to be able to access the internet to be able to Google how you hang doors.

I thought a router was another term for a navigator.

Re: Passing the Time
When I bought the derelict cottage with half an acre of garden four feet deep in nettles I got a walk behind mower, ex council, from the motor auction at Tewkesbury, that had a Tecumseh engine, excellent piece of kit, lasted for all the four years I was there then passed on to a mate who continues to this day using it on parts of his seven acre field.peter306 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2020, 17:50 Apart from pulling up a tree stump and murdering the remaining roots, which i have yet to finish as there is now no rush .
My neighbor decided to take his Italian made tiller out of hibernation and do his garden, he put fuel in and after sitting idly for months it started second time, and then died after another minute, he hadn't realized the beneficial property's of oil, I am now waiting for a new head gasket having stripped and cleaned it, a Tecumseh small engine, L block and mounted vertically, strange little thing.
For anyone interested Tecumseh was a native American tribal chief.

Re: Passing the Time
I am pleased to report that SWMBO has completed the first part of her journey from Cairns to Brisbane, now its a 28 hour wait for her flight out to Doha and then London . Just time for me to cut the grass out front , weed the flower beds , sweep the drive and wash down the garage door . Then its out the back to cut the grass , weed the beds and sweep the patio . Indoors to polish our mango furniture , hoover downstairs , make her bed , dust and hoover upstairs , clean the bathroom , clean the cloakroom , clean the kitchen , wash the kitchen floor , make a cottage pie , bake a welcome home cake , put away the scalextric and my air rifle , empty the C5 boot into the garage ready for airport collection on Saturday and then get my laundry up to date so the machine is free for her!! If only the pubs were still open!!

It's been over 4 hours since you posted that, Mick. I'm guessing all you've got left to do by now is make the bed. Enjoy your afternoon off after all that

Re: Passing the Time
I've done all the outdoor stuff and unloaded the C5, put away the scalextric and rifle and then the phone rang and I sat down and have just turned on the laptop. Indoor housework tomorrow while the laundry is on, do the cottage pie and then bake the cake!! I'm getting there! Now I can hear a can of Doom Bar calling me:-D
