I was just having a look. I take it the vapor absorber is to the rear/fuel tank area.
Only line I can see feeds down under the bulkhead.

I had a look from the rear this morning but couldn't see it.
Ive got busted knees so cant really be jacking up/climbing under my cars these days.
Guessing its likely tucked in the passenger side forward of the fuel tank

It's possible that it might be located where the additive tank would be on a diesel - next to the fuel tank (on the left side of the fuel tank) as you stand behind the vehicle facing forward. The additive tank would be located under some heat resistant foil - but as this is a fuel vapour canister, I would expect it to be away from the heat of the actual exhaust. Just a guess mind.

Is a vapour canister the same thing as purge canister ?
Convinced but willing to be proved wrong that its the same thing that was hidden behind the n/s wing ( RHD) Xantia i had that was built in 1996 something tells me i asked CitroJim what it was as it was the first petrol Xantia i had owned and had no idea what it was ?

I can see the vacuum line going down under the bulkhead,so wouldn't expect it to be under the wing.
I did peer in from the passenger side but the C5s low and couldnt get a look,really needs lifted. Probably easy seen once its up.
I expect its in the area by the exhaust silencer forward of the fuel tank.
I dont have anywhere here to work on the car but outside the house and with the lockdown I guess I shouldnt be doing that.
Think I might have to put her in a garage and eat the cost.
Ill take her for a run and give what I can see a checkover tomorrow but it seems tight under the bonnet.

Needs to be away from fuel lines and sparks, needs to be purged to air so near an area that gets fresh air pulled in, just thinking aloud

Ha! just got an email from my local trusted garage that they are closing from today.
I'm going shopping tomorrow,so might try and get a look at the far side of the car park away from everyone while Im there

Gonna have to admit defeat. Looked underneath and its all lovely with underbody covers. Nice rusted nuts. Tried undoing one and it eventually sheared.
I can see 2 brake lines and one flexi hose going up the passenger side.
I can see another flexi going up the drivers.
so one will be fuel and one vacuum I take it.
With bad knees and a dodgy shoulder I just cant be under the car for that length of time.
Might need to take a gamble on a garage if I can find one open.

Yes, they are in lockdown too - so best wait until you can get it up on a ramp. Unfortunately there isn't anything detailing its removal that I have.

It wouldnt be hard to take off with a decent ramp set up. standard plastic pins and a few rusty bolts. To be fair its well fitted but a pain for home maintenance.
Ive found a localish Citroen specialist so Im dropping the car off tomorrow.
I cant be doing with faults on my cars. Dont have to be perfect but I cant be doing with faults grumbling on.

Well Im back. EML is out. Diagnostic run and many many codes cleared.
So potentially from sitting,maybe the electrovale,who knows but its all clear now.
However while it was in I asked them to fit two new front tyres I knew the car needed.

So the bad news. The OEM locking wheel nut key was damaged and didnt fit securely on the bolts,So bolts removed
Found a leaking front shock, upper ball joint & anti roll bar link requiring replacement.
On a car that has done 115 miles since its MOT in September? To say I was unimpressed is an understatement and I would question the validity of the last MOT
I cant get the DVLA site to accept the document reference code to access what garage it was.
My quick buy low mileage FSH car hasnt really worked out!

Anyway. I fitted the new bonnet release cable but Im thinking Im missing a mounting lug or something?
I can't see anywhere to clip/route the cable to take up the slack and provide resistance to actuate the lever

The standard advice regarding the C5 locking wheel nuts is to remove them at the first opportunity and throw them as far away as possible and replace them with normal wheel nuts. The anti-roll bar links are known to fail - though it's not unusual for there to be absolutely no play when you try to move them by hand, but knock when going over speed bumps or potholes.

This car is sent to test me. The certainly seem to have upped their putting it togertherdness on these!
Looking to remove the glovebox to install my Parrot bluetooth & dashcam wiring while Im there.

Removed the dash side panel.
Removed the 3 screws to the top,3 screws under the lid (small t20 bit gives enough wigle room)
I've removed the screws inside the compartment.
also removed Aux in,light and air con dial.
Cant feel/find anything on the right side of the box but its definitely still held on the right side.

I looked on previous posts and see mention of removing the glovebox lid but is this required for removing the entire box?
