Re: Passing the Time
So I was going to do a Jim and have a mammoth bread baking session - but on account of no yeast anywhere, yet alone any flour - that got the kybosh.
So instead I have been:
Domestic God Numbers:
Cleaning out the cat litter tray
Rearranging the lounge furniture
De-borised and removed all visible spider webs
Cleaned the oven
Scrubbed the chip pan to a mirror finish (which has only been resurrected since lockdown on account of having 50 Kg of Maris Pipers in the shed to get through - so it's chippies)!
Car Related:
Valeted the Picasso ready for sale:- steamed, scrubbed, replaced Radio, dash bulbs, fitted genuine PSA cigarette lighter that was missing. Not that anyone will be out buying cars any time soon..
Snow Foamed the C3 and the C5
Ordered some replacement Wheel nut Caps (and incidentally they have included several larger caps for the locking wheel nuts) - so I'll try them out tomorrow once I've disinfected the package.
Checked and topped up the air in all 12 tyres in the fleet
David Belamy Numbers:
Growing a giant Sunflower from a packet seed (yes, singular the tight s*ds) freebie in the Mother's Day Flowers
Weeding the Strawberry Planters
Cleaned out the fountains and pumps
And now I've come down with a cold (I hope)! and have spent the last 24 hours trying to get a flipping delivery slot - which I did for the 23rd April...
So now I am totally

Some nail-varnish remover - c'mon, own up - ought to revive the rubber.
Just had an e-mail from my son in the UK – working from home, but also dusted off some ancient and somewhat tarnished Scalextric...

Re: Passing the Time
Made a bit of a mess of my menu planning this week which left me with an uneaten and now out of date steak in the fridge. I hate actually throwing food away so I decided to treat the cats/hedgehogs that choose to drop in overnight. I have to say once I'd prepared it I was seriously tempted but as I've used up my gin on the tyres I thought what the heck:

Re: Passing the Time
Curry it
I have flour and yeast but have never made any bread (yet).
I bought the yeast to kill slugs with - a bit dissolved in warm water in a jar attracts them and they drown in the water.
I must have crushed at least 100 snails lurking in the ivy today. Buggers strip almost everything out of my garden. Good job I'm not a Buddhist.

Re: Passing the Time
A fair suggestion Steve, except that I cannot eat any spicy food due to a digestive issue I live with and secondly there isn't really enough to warrant the effort. On the other hand of course a well fed Tom from up the road may well turn out a better prospect in the long term if we do run into shortages!

A steak & diddly pie for me ^ with plenty of salt & pepper and a thick gravy - that should kill anything untoward...

Re: Passing the Time
I assume Marc that the "steak & diddly" is the welsh version of our "snake & pygmy" which we love so much, but I can't have the pepper so I have to lightly oil it in Mongoose saliva to help break down the meat.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑05 Apr 2020, 10:26 A steak & diddly pie for me ^ with plenty of salt & pepper and a thick gravy - that should kill anything untoward...

I guess I should have expected some gate crashers to my garden party last night but I wasn't expecting this fellow:

Re: Passing the Time
Front of house duly painted today More importantly than that though.........
I decoked my works' tea mug this weekend It was due its annual service and the tannin that had built up had started to delaminate recently and spoil my cuppa. A 6 hour soak in bleach, then 3 runs in the dishwasher, and it's now just about at operating theatre levels of cleanliness and ready for another years brewing
Sadly no longer a C5 owner
Re: Passing the Time
Apart from pulling up a tree stump and murdering the remaining roots, which i have yet to finish as there is now no rush .
My neighbor decided to take his Italian made tiller out of hibernation and do his garden, he put fuel in and after sitting idly for months it started second time, and then died after another minute, he hadn't realized the beneficial property's of oil, I am now waiting for a new head gasket having stripped and cleaned it, a Tecumseh small engine, L block and mounted vertically, strange little thing.

Re: Passing the Time
As I'm working from home now Mrs Michel's cancer recovery is going well, I did some work for a few hours this morning, but .. well, the airport is hardly busy, so neither am I..
Went for a 4 mile walk in the deserted fields and round the local lakes with Mrs Michel and the boy, then spent an hour in the garden freaking out the neighbours by practising my Eagle Claw Kung-Fu kicks and hand-drills.

Re: Passing the Time
I have decided to try and come up with excuses to not do what i could do in terms of doing stuff around the house that i have been putting off for over 12 months ( some even 24 months + )
Not going well so far but the doors have not been hung because i have yet to find a set of chisels and drills online that i need.
When i find them i will need a work bench so keeping that under my hat so shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
