For a stuck pressure plate
- press down on the clutch
- put into gear, parking brake firmly on
- operate the starter
Should separate adhesion between flywheel/clutch cover and the friction plate, as both flywheel and clutch cover will rotate, but friction plate will remain stationary.

That's what I was referring to earlier, the result sometimes was to rip the linings off the centre plate or tear the hub out.

It was 1990 .....and I can't remember what else I tried but after the clutch pipe burst I obviously couldn't apply any pressure to the clutch #-o
