Engine swap c5 to c4 grand picasso

Your advice please , my 2008 1.6 hdi grand picasso engine has gone tits up and I am contemplating taking the engine out of my mothballed c5 and doing a direct swap , c5 engine has 389k on it with super low emissions and is more economical an faster, your thoughts please, degree of difficulty etc

If it's the same engine, worth a punt. If it's different, don't bother trying unless you've got a long time and deep pockets!

Contemplating scrapping both, same engines bar a few differences with hoses and cat , my main concern was ECU . If I went to the trouble of swapping them would it start ? Would it be a waste of a few days of my life lol !!
