C5 2009 spheres

Post by Letang »

I'm thinking about to replace my spheres on my car to maybe bring back the magic carpet ride.

Mileage is 260000km

Engine is 2.0 HDI manual, RHF (DW10BTED4)

Vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Do need to replace all 7 of the spheres to bring it back to smooth ride quality or can I start with front and back?

But my main question is does anyone have the correct partnumber for all the 7 spheres on my car so I can check them out on some shops online.

To be honest these types of spheres on the X7 have a claimed near 'unlimited life' - due to the composition and design of the diaphragms used on these. That's why the originals are quite expensive. I suspect you might want to consider the front and or rear hydraulic blocks for the Hydractive 3 - as the electrovalves can sometimes stick causing the fluid to rush back to the tank which can affect the comfort. If it is the electrovalves, then replacing the spheres will do nothing - except make a big hole ion your pocket.

Personally, if I ever had the reason to replace them, I wouldn't buy any replacement spheres for the X7 from anywhere else except the originals from the dealer.

Front Corner Spheres: 1638046680 - £139.42
Rear Corner Spheres: 1638045680 - £139.42
Front Rigidity Regulator Sphere: 527627 - £177.05
Rear Rigidity Regulator Spheres (X2): 1638045780 - £139.42

All the above are VAT inclusive prices from Citroen.

Marc, silly question but is it possible to test the EV's? either by diagnostics / status when driving or some other way?

Most of the electrovalves can be tested with Diagbox - these are listed under the parameter tests under the suspension ECU. They certainly work whilst the engine is running when lowering and raising the car and for the comfort and sport modes John.
