John,
My X7 is the same year and to alter the TPMS or disable it, is done through the Customer delivery box.
I disabled mine and check the pressure manually as my front wheels have been switched around along with new sensor fitted not matched to the car.
TPMS not a legal required to be working on 2010 model (MOT) but legal requirement from Jan 2012.

car has generally been quite well behaved this week! nothing untoward happening..
have a silly test to do over weekend, but otherwise will concentrate now on the new motorbike! and the camper MOT tomorrow, a dreaded thing if ever there was one
