Wallowing Tesla

Post by white exec »

Coming back along the motorway from Malaga today, there is a brief stretch where the two-lane carriageway not only gently curves, but also undulates a little. By chance, we were following a 1-2 year old Tesla S at just over 80km/h, and I was surprised to see how badly it took the undulations: the back end waving up and down with increasing excursion as it went. I know, historically, Amercans liked soft suspension, but surely not on one of these? In contrast, the XM just mopped it up, riding level and unfussed.. Maybe an effect of all that battery weight?

Considering the cost and general geekyness of the Tesla's I would have thought they would have clearance sensors to make those adjustments automatically! Missed a trick there chaps!! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
