My AX failed MOT help!

Post by TheflyingAX »

Hi everyone I don't normally join forum to ask question, but I had a difficult to find myself what is wrong with my car (I am not expert about cars mechanical) when the MOT man rang me this morning said my car has failed the MOT he was suppose to explain when I turn up at the garage and when I arrived the garage it was closed and he left me a note want me to write him a cheque and put in the letterbox cos he is on away holiday from tomorrow (a bit odd)

I look on MOT paper said it 'Hazard warning inoperative' is that hazard button or relay? the flash won't come on with hazard button but the stalk it do work, can someone telling me what to look for? my is 1988 1.0 RE
thanks

On Xantias the hazard button contact can corrode and fail to operate the warning. A long series of pushes on the button often brings them back to life. Failing that it could need the button removing and the contacts cleaning or replacement of the button.
With any luck the AX will be similar.

That's the problem with things you don't want/need/use being part of the MoT. Still glad you got it sorted.
