OK, not a misty morning (and not even in 2020), but here are a couple more evening narrow boat shots, from the Hungerford area on the River Kennet.

I like the Canal Cruises one James.

Perhaps you could blow some smoke around to make it look misty.

What did you use?
I was considering using The Gimp.
Takes me a while to remember to look this stuff up sometimes but I just remembered, must have a shot at it. Need to procrastinate a while first though.

One of many tutorials. I keep looking at The Gimp then throwing in the towel.
I did have to use it to manipulate all my son's wedding photo's. They were fine on the screen but crap when printed. It took a while, had to buy a new printer too.
Just nicely finished printing and compiling the wedding album, handed it over to him and he divorced her a month later.

It wasn't my photography that caused the divorce, she managed that all on her own.

I used the spray can in Paint 3D and just a light wafting of very pale lilac!! You could make a really nice job if you have a ciouple of hours to spend on it, ......spray, erase, spray, erase, spray etc until you get it right. I just gave it a quick waft and posted it up!! Go have some fun :-D :-D

I don't have Paint, of course. The Gimp will do it but is fairly complex to use. Easier now that YouTube have so many tutorials.
I have Irfanview but it is years since I used it, it may have something similar.

I find Paint.Net to be a very capable free image editing package. I've never used Gimp so can't compare them.

Here is a link to download Paint 3D Steve, I find it very handy and very easy to use. Virtually self explanatory. :)

I'll have a look at that Mick, thanks.

Just had a quick muck about with The Gimp.

About ten minutes - finding where they hide the filters, my version is quite different from the one on the video.
Configuring and applying the filter and exporting the image another couple of minutes.
Finding the exported image another few minutes.

Oh - yours. Not a clue.
I just wanted a delicate mist, not pea soup :)

The Paint program you suggested is no good for me, I don't use Windows.
Thanks anyway.

I tried using paint.net. Nothing suitable there unfortunately.
