Suspension System Tank, Does older LDS reservoir fit in newer cars?

Post by Aldin »

Hello,

I have a C5 MK3 (X7) with hydraulic suspension. I got a small crack in my LDS reservoir. =D>
The most straight forward thing to do is replacing the reservoir with a new one. However a new one is a bit expensive for me right now.

I was searching the used parts database (here in Sweden) without any luck.
However there are LDS tanks available, really cheap, for the C5 MK2 (Facelift).
I am wondering if anyone knows if its possible to fit the older tank in the newer car?
The only visible difference between the tanks is that the older one has a Venting filter (4009V6).

current tank mk3 : 4009V8
older tank mk2: 4009S4

Or:
Is it possible to fix the crack by applying a thick layer of epoxy on the cracked surface?
