The table below gives the intermittence timings of rear wipe as a function of vehicle speed and of windscreen wipe speed.
Vehicle Speed (V)In the mode: Stop or PVI, there is no automatic rear wipe.
Decreasing speed Increasing speed Stop or PVI Intermittent PV GV Speed<5 km/h Speed<10 km/h 0 s 5 s 5 s 5 s 5<speed<40 km/h 10<speed<50 km/h 0 s 10 s 10 s 10 s 40<speed<80 km/h 50<speed<90 km/h 0 s 15 s 15 s 15 s Speed > 80 km/h Speed > 90 km/h 0 s 10 s 10 s 10 s
Key:Rear wiper motor protection
- PVI: Intermittent Slow speed
- PV: Slow speed
- GV: High speed
The BSI protects the rear wiper motors against overheating in the event of blocked torque, irrespective of the operating mode requested by the user.
The protection timing for both the windscreen and rear screen wiper motors is 7 seconds.
I'm gob smacked , so if I did The reboot correct then with it sitting on the drive it won't wipe till I'm driving, and its not acting weird either, I have a new motor on its way as the spindle on this orignal has no splines its as smooth as silk, I've had the car for 2 weeks and recall now economy mode flashed up on the dash panel the owner said it happened after a new battery was put on. So this could of caused the rear wiper to stop working normally ?
