hi guys,
I've noticed for a while now that the rear of the c5 is making that inevitable clunk indicating that the rear swing arm bearings need replacing.
Took the c5 to the garage today and was warned that the rear hydraulic pipe if it is corroded and snaps during removal or refitting can't be replaced as Citroen have marked that part as not manufactured anymore. SO, I was wondering can these be bought from anywhere? like a man who manufactures these parts to order in a shed somewhere?
many thanks in advance. Kev

One possibility is Pleiades.
Pirtek also may be able to help.
Does the noise exhibit when passing over speed bumps, or raisin/lowering the suspension?
I was told that mine needed doing so asked my mechanic - Citroen trained - and he could find nothing wrong, neither could Mt MOT man.
Turned out to be missing anti-rattle springs on the rear brake pads.

According to the Citroën manual you don need to touch the hydraulic lines for that job.
And the pipes are not NLA i just checked, also bought som new ones recently.

Interesting! my Citroen guy Dave Ashworth here in Blackpool said they were definitely no longer available???citroenguy wrote: ↑08 Feb 2020, 21:18 According to the Citroën manual you don need to touch the hydraulic lines for that job.

Re: c5 mark 1 rear hydraulic pipe failure
the noise is definitely the rear arm bearings the tyre is wearing on the outside of the tyre and the inside is fine. I replaced the wheel bearings only a year ago.
The noise is when going over bumps.

Re: c5 mark 1 rear hydraulic pipe failure
I bought them from my local dealer.
I got 5270QS and 5270QQ, 16 mm pipes for mine with Hyractive 3+.
These are the pipes from the rear "joiner" to the cylinder.
For Hydractive 3 cars they're called 5270QA and 5270QC.
But still, i don't think you need to touch the hydraulic system more than de-pressurizing, removing the pin and pushing back the pistons.

Best that you check with a parts diagram.
There are several places that will make up new pipes, if needed.

Re: c5 mark 1 rear hydraulic pipe failure
Post your VIN up (automatically masked) and I'll check availability - some pipes are available (Back Harness for example), but it's no good guessing as there are several types of pipes (front to rear, rear to front, supply and return pipes) so we need know which ones are and which are not still available.kevino wrote: ↑08 Feb 2020, 21:24Interesting! my Citroen guy Dave Ashworth here in Blackpool said they were definitely no longer available???citroenguy wrote: ↑08 Feb 2020, 21:18 According to the Citroën manual you don need to touch the hydraulic lines for that job.

Citroen supply (or more specifically availability) of parts will be the same regardless of location, so I suspect 'Citroenguy' is referring to some pipes that are still available. But to be honest, if they have already looked at the job, they would have identified the exact pipe of concern and availability of that specific pipe so I would suggest you dealer is correct.
