Is there any recent science on running veg oil/emissions in a diesel engine?
Found this article, not exactly science, not exactly recent, but a marks a move away from the "benefits" previously attributed to biofuels.
MEPs demand phase out of vegetable oil biofuels by 2020

which has the following quote
"
Biodiesel from virgin vegetable oil leads to around 80% higher emissions on average than the fossil diesel it replaces. This assessment is based on biodiesel’s lifecycle emissions, which include land-use change emissions (ILUC). ILUC occurs when new or existing cropland is used for biofuel production thus displacing the current use of that land. This phenomenon leads to peatland drainage and deforestation in order to make lands available for cropping, thereby causing carbon sinks to be opened. In 2015, biodiesel was the most popular biofuel in Europe with a market share of 80%.

None that I can find. All that I read when I used to run mine on veg was pretty conclusive in it's result - it's far filthier than diesel in just about every way, so I stopped using it.

Particulates, CO2, formaldehyde and other nasties are all far higher on veg.

Www.biofuelwatch.org.uk has plenty of info, mainly in pdf files which I can't post here or I would.

There is a distinct difference between raw veggie oil and used cooking oil. As ever you can find stats to confirm or deny whatever you want, two examples: :)

Oh no....the subject was given the Jeremy Vine treatment today on the back of the proposal to ban sales of new petrol and diesel cars by 2035.

Had I not been driving, and had my phone with me, and actually remembered the number to text in on, I would have been very close to joining in. The guests were bad enough, typical one from the pro side one from the against coming out with the cliches, and then the great unwashed join in with half baked opinions on both sides.

I did like the bloke from Yorkshire, calling his spade a spade, and extolling the virtues of his old diesel Land Rover running on veg. Only problem he had was having to change his fuel filter a £3.63 a pop at 3000 mile intervals when he used to collect his fat from the chip shops round Huddersfield.

Jeremy drank that in without question and concluded why don’t we all do that.

Yes no reasoned debate on Jezza. Just the usual pantomime, and occasionally I must enjoy a pantomime because I keep coming back to listen. :)

I don't listen to Jeremy Vine for the same reason I don't eat from the toilet.

I was looking at the website for the Corsa-e, and the finance offer

Just for fun, I wondered what my car would be worth on top of the £2000 trade-in offer

Please fill correct car registration

I wouldn't have minded if they said £50, or £250 if you don't bring it in and waste our time getting rid of it, but apparently it already doesn't exist.

It's a 4 year PCP offer. That might be the time for some of us to start looking ...

Playing catch-up here this caught my eye "In 2015, biodiesel was the most popular biofuel in Europe with a market share of 80%" That was the year I got the C15 & so started buying diesel in Europe & I didn't see a biodiesel pump then, & never have since!

There was one fuel station around here that sold biodiesel but I used to buy mine from a company in a factory unit next to where I worked. They made it for their fleet - Aquajet, like Dynorod.

It was first class and half the cost of normal diesel. It had barely any smell and what there was was like isopropanol, quite pleasant.

Unfortunately they discovered that the manager in charge of it was ripping the company off big time, he was taken out and shot and they stopped selling it.
By then the other biodiesel station had reverted to standard diesel.
