I think you are on the right track there Marc. I have already discussed this with the youtuber concerned and he tells me it seems to have got worse since he hit the 100,000 followers point. While he goes out of his way to ensure his channel is free and only collects funds by donation from his many happy followers, including me of course, he has no control over youtube's insertions in his videos. I accept that ads may be needed and I could live with them if they were inserted at sensible points, its the ludicrous randomness that winds me up! You might like to have a look at one of his videos from his range of motorcyling trips and tours or even his private pilot activities. You will find him at The Missenden Flyer if you are interested.! :)

Perfectly ok for a PC Steve - but this won't work for Smart TVs for example (which I should of mentioned) as you have no control over content blockers at all. We watch most of out viewing on the YouTube App on our Smart TVs including a lot of music videos, so we have no options on that front - so hence why I just skip channels I know are very ad-prone.

Aha! That changes things a bit.
I only have a stupid TV that I never watch anyway. Just watch YouTube on computers.
Can you do a workaround and cast from a laptop o your TV? Clunky but better than adverts.

Yes, I can use an iPad and youtube to connect to the smart TV (which I do sometimes as it is easier to search for things), but a bit of a faff for others when we're using out iPads too for other things :-D

Can the room accept people namely people that drive with headphones. They aren't paying attention (try beeping them) and they are concentrating on their phone not the road. I'd like to throw in unlimited calls on mobile phones too. These morons really irritate me, now they are on bicycles too.

I'd tend to leave the insects outside the room, unintended consequences could ensue

Two car adverts going into room 101 today as my personal choice....

Norway have ditched this advert, but still getting churned out over here,

The "self-charging" hybrid with no plug-in, and two sources of energy....yes petrol and gasoline :-D

and while we are at it Peugeot's car of the future and their astounding vision out of the mouths of children....

"Will it run on Petrol............yes, but it will also be electric....."

Well they are a legacy car maker, they like an internal combustion engine, even if its a little one its the engine of the future (not), and they wouldn't like the poor oil companies to go out of business....

I have two candidates for Room 101;

Suicidal Cyclists. Cycling around with no lights, minimal (or no) reflectors and dark clothing make it very difficult to see them after dark (regardless of whether they are in an area with street lighting or not). I am glad I have a dash camera, as when I eventually hit such an idiot I will have reasonable proof that it was difficult/impossible to avoid.

Driving and video streaming while driving. I saw, a few days ago, an arrogant young lady driver pull up next to me at the lights looking intently at her instrument panel. I then noticed a large mobile phone obscuring said instruments and showing some video or another. I sincerely wish that the next time she does this she is alongside a police car and they notice what she is doing.

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....

My own personal deposit today springs from the coverage of the proposed ban on Diesel/Petrol and Hybrid sales by 2035 on both Jeremy Vine, and the late night News "paper review". I almost let the garbage (yes obviously in my opinion) spouted by the "guests" on Jeremy Vine go, but the paper reviewers hit another level.
However, rather than Room 101 the people who are entitled to their opinions, I'll put in the bit which irritated me the most.

Because the Government are now proposing to include hybrids, we got a bit of faux outrage and, the old cliche being trooped out. Something like
"So the Government are bringing forward the ban on diesel and petrol cars and now they are even banning hybrids. The government told us to buy diesels, then they told us to buy hybrids, and now they are banning them.....its ridiculous its the same thing over again."
So into Room 101 goes the irrational belief that the UK Government actually prevented, at any time, any of its citizens from selecting a car of their choice and preference by going into a car showroom, or selecting a used car from gumtree/autotrader/ebay.

Caveat emptor

But the rhetoric was spouted about the benefits of diesels by the Government of the day - so as a supposedly 'responsible' body, the public and more importantly the car manufacturers may act accordingly in their manufacturing / buying choices and as more people bought diesels, the demand increases and they make more etc., etc..

So I have to retrieve this from room 101 and save it as manufacturers and consumers are no doubt influenced by Governments of the day. - Just as with Hybrids being thrown in to the ban, which has caught the motor industry out it would seem....

I think it is overly ambitious and disagree with the decision as there is no way the infrastructure will be there in rural areas so support this and again it will be people in my area that will suffer again - no trains, no usable buses that offer regularity or connecting routes - and roads with holes in larger than Calcutta - just not practical and not going to happen. I can see a backlash brewing already.

I will however swap your 101 deposit Neil, with this as a good trade off: :-D

^ Agreed except for Saint Greta, drag her back out too.

She gets right up Trumps nose, which is priceless. She has motivated a lot of action regarding climate change too.

This is not as bad as it seems. Marc, you are missing the whole point of room 101, it is provided as a black hole for individuals to dump forever, whatever they choose without question or need to explain. Thus it was not possible for you to retrieve Neil's deposit and hence you could not have substituted it with the Saint. Therefore Steve there is no need to be sad as She was not put in in the first place!!! :-D Oh and by the way the key is philosophical so could not be thrown away either :rofl2:
