Yes to continue the homage to grey....around £4,000 is likely to buy this example of the shade "City Grey" on this P6 at Anglia Car Auctions

Image

as mentioned before....its a bit more grey than the shade "lunar grey" on a P6

I ran a P5 Mk.I 3-litre in City Grey, while at college around 1970. Bought for the grand sum of £45.
6-cyl i.o.e., which used to eat exhaust valves at motorway speeds, until I fitted it with overdrive to reduce engine revs. (Weslake finally sorted the cylinder head for the Mk.III.)

The damned thing eventually rusted faster than I could stop it. You could watch the QH exhaust drop to pieces while it was parked. Resorted to four fibreglass wings, eventually. 20-22 mpg, which was tolerable in those days (3-4 gallons for £1 !).

Huge fun . . . bench front seat . . . acres of space in the back . . . :luv:

Like this one, although the leather interior was grey too...

You have to be careful to choose the right shades depending on the location/time/date of the vessel you are trying to disguise. As he had lost one of his colour selection manuals he ordered the book "Fifty Shades of Grey". Boy, was he shocked at what he received! :D

That's reminded me of something I did at work years ago.

Our part of the firm was making electrical control panels

The drawing office manager sounded off one day about needing a colour chart for all the BS colours

I found one, made a photocopy (shades of grey), and left it on his desk on a Saturday morning

Actually he liked it and didn't see it as a joke. The main thing was to tally the colour names and numbers

I agree with both statements Mick but as dull as dishwater greys goes that's one of the more acceptable ones!

Beautiful looking car from your picture Neil but as soon as you see the whole car it goes in the "we welded a backfacing wheelhouse onto the saloon version" for me. The rear just doesn't integrate with the car properly!! Oh and still a no on the colour though better than the last one! :-D
