Hello,
My problem arose recently when I had a battery failure associated with an alternator issue.
I don't know if it is related or just coincidental.
After my alternator problem had been fixed I found that the fuel gauge was not showing any content.
A garage was used and a new sender device was fitted. This did not solve the problem. Subsequent garage work indicates that data is arriving at the fuel gauge but not getting any response. They tried to obtain a replacement unit from Citroen but found that it is not available any more, either the gauge or the whole display.
There are firms offering to repair instruments but they need the panel to be sent and I am not sure how reliable they would be.
Has anyone had a similar experience and procured a successful outcome?
I would appreciate any advice.
Bob

Don't be buying and replacing parts - until you know what the cause is.
These can often be resolved by the dealer with the appropriate diagnostic. Sometimes the sender units get a hiccup that can give an incorrect reading or nothing at all.
Don't go to a bodge it and leggit garage - they often haven't got a clue when it comes to understanding electronics unless they are specialists or know their vehicles.
A dealer can interrogate the ECU and undertake the sender gauge tests. There may be a fault code or they can reinitialise it.
Post up your VIN (automatically masked from public view) so I can see exactly what specs. you have.

Hi, and to the Forum.
I wonder if a BSi reset might help here?
