Anti pollution system faulty Pug 3008

Second time it’s come up on the dashboard. First time was only last week! Car goes into limp mode when in full auto. Just about manages to hit 70 when I put it in a manual Taking the car to the garage in the morning. Any idea what could be the problem?

How does the fault come along? Is it during acceleration or past a certain rev range?

During acceleration for sure :/

Can't say for sure without a proper diagnostic, but given the symptoms it seems reasonable to suspect EGR sticking or boost fault if it's diesel. What engine/gearbox precisely is it? And where are you located, since there's a good few of us here with the dealer level kit who'd be willing to check it out without having to pay dealer level rates!

It’s a 2lt diesel (auto). I’m in Essex.

When was the fuel filter last changed?

I’m not sure tbh. Possibly august last year when the mot and full service were done. I had to drive 1.5 hours for work this morning, put the car into manual mode, 4th gear down M25 seems to have done the trick. The error msg has disappeared and the car drives fine atm.
