The headlights on the car in the video look more canted to me than in the 2000 picture ? Just saying :-D

They do look like that, but the 1300 had single headlights, and the trolleys from Bournemouth were gone by 1969 pre-dating the Toledo which had a different stlye of front end. Hence my guess at the 2000.

I thought it was a 2000, did the bus conductor fall off and get left behind? :) Have a look at about 2.38 on.

Video says the Trolleys had gone by '69.
In the film there are 1100's ('63-'74), Vaux 101 ('60-'64), and a giveaway Vaux Cresta PC, which appeared in 1965.

A friend of mine had a dark green PC Cresta, 3.3-litre, Powerglide automatic. An extrordinary use of sheet metal (not quite as extravagant as Ford's Mk.IV Zephyr/Zodiac), but could that car shift!

IIRC, conductors often hopped off the platforms of Trolleys as they slowly approached overhead "changeovers" (points), to manually pull a handle on the upright, throwing the points for a one-time turn-off. The points automatically reset themselves after the Trolley had passed. After pulling the handle, the conductor simply jumped back on the slowly moving bus again.

It's a Mk1 Triumph 2000 almost certainly. The only slight variation on the identification is that it might be a Mk1 2.5 PI but as that was different under the bonnet we'll probably never know.

Mmm, maybe not a 2.5 PI as a possibility. The 2.5 PI wasn't introduced until 1968 and the Mk2 body shape came along in 1969 so is unlikely.

Tried to enlarge that bit of the image, but the quality is dreadful.
Definitely Triumph 2000-looking.

Don't think the headlights are canted (like some Heralds); think it's the chrome bumper overrider being a bit misleading. Everything else seems to match Neil's pic.

We do seem to have a soft-spot :luv: for Trolleybuses.

A couple of chassis here. Simple stuff. No wonder they just kept running and running.
Some of the 1930 motors were still original (and serviced) when eventually scrapped 30 years later.
Motors and control gear by Brush, Crompton, BTH, etc.

They must consult the FCF to see "what's trending" They will probably follow it up with an article on "How to identify a mkI Triumph 2000 from a fuzzy picture!"

I noticed an original 'F' model Victor on there, not many of those left now, I think they must have been rusting when they left the factory.

That must be an FB Victor you're talking about. There were stories of people leaving their car out in the rain and coming back to find an engine block in a rusty patch in the road. Well, maybe not but it was close to the truth.

My father had an FC Victor, known as the 101 Victor. Bench seat and a three speed column gear change. it was basically an overbodied FB with a lot of overhang over the wheels. Its rusting capability wasn't far off from the FB, not surprising considering its parentage.
