Height corrector most probably - what a PITA.

Fixed...…...for now, I ordered a new front height sensor but as it's Christmas post week and there was dry spell this morning I took the old one off, broke it open (Stanley knife on the back cover) took out the circuit board and cleaned all the contact faces, glued the back cover back on and refitted it, all back to normal again.

I'll fit the new one to be sure when it arrives, only a fifteen minute job.

Did you re-solder the joins where the connector fits onto the circuit board? These have been known to fail over time, as you have square pins in round holes. A touch with the soldering iron can help.

I did think about that but decided it wasn't needed.

I found in the middle of the round board there was a rain drop size bit of blue copper grot that I guessed was messing up the circuits, gave that a thorough clean up and all's well, didn't look as though there was any water ingress so I put it down to age.
