It's not exactly well publicised outside the scientific community. I got a bit involved when I was doing a Physics course with the OU in the 80s and the Durham summer school recruited some of us willing students to help with some number crunching of data produced by experiments with the Hadron Collider at CERN. I remember it was one of several terms and constants which came up on some of the sheets but our job was just assimilating and correlating the numbers in the columns on the sheets. No mass computing power available to do it in those days. We do tend to take that sort of data assimilation for granted these days as all the work our team of 6 completed in 5 evenings after course time would probably be done in a few seconds on an ipad these days!! :)

Now dont expect excitement, but this video dates from the launch reveal of the Renault....16

The music is gentle and soporific! (as is the "action" :-D )

Just seen this too:
"Hey Graham, what's your number?"

"Hmmm.... I think it'd be easier if you just sent me an email instead"

Here's a random contribution from me.

Did you know that "B" is next to "N" on a standard keyboard?
So this morning in the half light my first login attempt today was "BewcastleFalcon".

Now this is probably the first time and last time Bewcastle will be mentioned on this Forum. You see its in the "land that time forgot" namely that bit of Cumbria which isn't the Lake District, and isn't the M6, in between Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Border. No-one passes by it, no-one goes there.

So will the internet find anything for Bewcastle 17 for our little thread....

If anyone would like a quest. Visit Bewcastle and buy a mug for your morning cuppa :-D Its famous for its anglo saxon cross, roman fort, and Castle with llamas :-D

I think that's called a happy accident Neil! :-D
My first offering for 17 is a sneaky modification of yesterday's post. By making the turned over card the 10 of diamonds the crib hand scores 17!! :-D

She's still got the same voice that came out of the NPSU Green Bar Jukebox in the late 70's.

Janis Ian At 17

So gentle, with one of the greats in the guitar world playing a very understated and respectful role alongside.

Anything with Mark Knopfler playing on it captures my interest, and a like for the originality of the Chlorine :-D
That bloke from "the Darkness" was on Ken Bruce Choosing his "tracks of my years" and goes up in my estimation by selecting the classic "Private Investigations". Knopflers vocals on that are as characteristic as his brilliant guitar.
