Peugeot 2008 1.6bluehdi P02ED, P00BC errors.

Post by marteuk »

Peugeot 2008 1.6bluehdi P02ED, P00BC errors.
Replaced Maf still the same. Took out Map sensor, which was pretty clean. Sprayed some contact cleaner, and put back , but error still pops up. Mosty happens when driving and releasing accelerator pedal while its in gear. I have Autel Maxisys Elite diagnostic. Maf figures are looking ok. Not sure what should i see on boost pressure on live data.

Don't use a contact cleaner, as some of these have a lubricant (to help switches work more smoothly) that can 'replace' the dirt you cleaned off. A proper MAF cleaner should do the job and leave the sensors completely clean of any contaminants.

James - he cleaned the MAP sensor not the MAF sensor.

MAF was also mentioned, hence my confusion. However, would a contact cleaner (with lubricant) merely replace one problem (dirt) with another ('oil' to allow contacts to move more easily)?

What are your referring to James a MAP or the MAF?

If MAP - this is just a sensor with electrical connection - so the only thing you can do is clean the electrical contacts with electrical contact cleaner. if the MAF, then neither - use only MAF cleaner specifically or you render these useless and they are not cheap. The wire on the MAF should never be rubbed or coated with anything other than MAF spray.

Sorry I mentioned, that MAF was replaced, which made no difference, despite that live data figures showed MAF is ok. One more thing to mention car is bit noisy not sure if it's normal to these engines

Ok, so the technical document is basically saying the repair is replacement of the complete EGR valve!

Your vehicle is just out of manufacturer's warranty - but I would still argue this with the dealer - or ring Peugeot up and tell them you are now aware there has been a Technical Service Bulletin about this issue (B1KW012VQ0) "Lighting of the diagnostic warning lamp - With fault codes P02ED and P00BC present".

See if they will agree to do the work free as your car is a month or 2 out of warranty - but they must of known this is an issue.

I've sent you an email with everything.

I bought second hand EGR valve and fitted it, but problem still exist. Decided to visit Peugeot, and they diagnosed faulty egr, and turbo boost was slightly lower than it should be, still pointing at egr. I then put another egr and problem still exist.
I know that both second hand egr valves were from low mileage cars, and both cars didn't have egr issues. Can't see any split intercooler hoses, or any leaks.

As you can see the dealer has diagnosed the same.

You may need to tell the vehicle that it has had a replacement valve using Diagbox - but you also don't know the history of those second hand parts - for all you know they too could be faulty. There may be some more fault finding needed here then - it might be the air doser, air supply / solenoid....

Hello,

I own a 208 BLUEHDI 100cv, and I would have liked to know if you had solved your problem?

I have exactly the same problem, which results in a lack of power and the fault codes P02ED and P00BC.

It's strange that a Peugeot agent tells me that these codes do not belong to the 208.

I changed the following parts:

EGR valve, Turbo, MAP sensor, Maf sensor, controlled the timing of the distribution.

I am lost I have spent a lot of time in the car but still do not see a solution.

thank you in advance

Hi Matthieu

Can you put your VIN code here please, and I can see if the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) also refers to your 208 with these fault codes. If this is the exact same engine as the other member above, then it is very likely that the same fault codes and TSB will apply to your 208 as well, but I will know for sure when you post up your 17 alpha / numerical VIN code.

Well that doesn't bode well for your dealer to be honest, as both these codes are related to your DV6FD engine, as you can see:

P02ED: Induction circuit: Air flow higher than the theoretical air flow, after sales threshold.
P00BC: Induction circuit: Air flow lower than the theoretical air flow, legislative threshold.

I also know that these same errors on the Peugeot 2008 with the exact same engine as yours has a Technical Service Bulletin for these specific 2 codes. The technical bulletin states that the EGR valve needs replacing if both these codes show up together.

So I think you need to go to a different dealer as they obviously don't read their database. If they have your VIN and enter these fault codes, they will see both these fault codes coming up and will be able to go deeper to tell you what they mean. But be very wary - because of this same issue with other DV6FD models (C4 Picasso Space Tourer and the 2008 - the technical bulletin advises the same action for both cars - replace the EGR valve.

Thank you for your response and your help.

I am an automobile mechanic, and therefore do the repairs myself.

I changed the EGR valve but unfortunately the problem persists. I have an air flow problem when I look at the measurement values on Diagbox.
