Re: cruise control
after a few months break i am willing to get back to this issue, so my thinking is as it can be seen working in lexia it could be a dodgy cruise control switch.....in which case i might just order another i can always sell it on at a later date if it doesn't work.
Or it could be something stupid like it needs a battery reset

Re: cruise control
Okay thank you!
I have ordered a comms unit from ebay from a xsara picasso exclusive which has cruise stalks just incase in the stalk i have is either faulty (unlikely) or incompatible.
If it turns out the new stalk doesn't work then i'll just give one of them away

Re: cruise control
Remember these are specific to vehicle and options, available for CAN VAN multiplexed and non multiplexed vehicles.
If you fit the wrong one for the wrong options you’ll have other problems and the vehicle my not start, so be warned.

Re: cruise control
Unfortunatly still no luck, which leads me to believe one of three things......i'm being blind in lexia and have missed the option (most likely), my lexia clone has compatability issues or my car can't support cruise (least likely).
my question now is there anyone in the north who has lexia and can help me out with this?

Re: cruise control
I'm going to have another crack at this again after some more research
I'm aware theres a bsi programming part of lexia I need to enter a 5 digit code to, however I haven't actually seen this.
Which leads me to believe as I have enabled it in the injection ECU it's still disabled in the bsi which would explain why it doesnt work

Re: cruise control
Weither it's enabled or disabled it will still show in the bsi list of options. I think I'm customer options. But it's not there. I've a c5 vtr with a redundant brake switch issue.. But it's the dual function one as there is physically no where to put a second one. I'm going to try a new brake swich and go from there.

Re: cruise control
That won't work, as it has already had a new switch fitted, Paul. Sorry if I did not mention it; I thought I did.

Re: cruise control
It tested out properly at PTS. One side is a 'push to make' (for the brake lights), while the other side is 'push to break' (to disconnect the cruise control).

Re: cruise control
Right. After obtaining the wiring diagram for the cruise control. I had a look at the wiring. The bsi supplies 12 v to the switch then directly to the engine ecu. This all probes out.. There is 12 v to the engine ecu. This means the brake pedal is released.. Pressing the. Brake or. Removing the plug to the. Brake switch breaks the 12 v to the engine ecu.. However its. Not detecting this.
This then leads. Me to believe the ecu is possibly faulty.
So. Here's a big ask. Has anyone an ecu and bsi matched that I could possibly borrow to see..
Or failing that anyone else with a mk. 1a manual Vtr who can go on with lexia and look to see what their redundant brake switch does. A car with working cruise would be good.
