207 CC Clutch

Post by Colin2206 »

I have just joined this Forum. It looks more knowledgeable than the alternatives.

My wife has a 207 CC on a 2008 plate and it has given good service over the years. Its not heavily used and is coming up to 161,000 km (that's 100,000 miles for the Brexiteers) and the clutch is going. I'm getting quoted over £470, which seems a bit steep. I've done clutches before and in no hurry to do this one. There is a good video on YouTube; the strip down seems to go on forever, although nothing special.

Any tips if I do it myself?

Hello, and :welc: to the Forum. If you post up your VIN here (which will, for security reasons, be obscured so only Forum staff can read it) a Moderator can let you know what your car had when she rolled out of the factory (including whether she has a Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) or not). Then they can let you know what is involved (including diagrams) and the cost of the various parts.

You might want to consider taking her to a Peugeot dealership. If they have the same scheme as Citroen they may do a fixed price clutch change.

Sorry for posting this under the Citroen rather than the Peugeot, wasn't paying attention.
I 'phone around and managed to get a much better price on the 5th. or 6th. attempt, so won't be doing this now. Which is a bit of a relief.
