Cheers Neil

Renault / Dacia K-ZE looks ideal for my Mrs .... she only does a small commute and sub £10,000 would be a bonus .... 0-37 mph is a bit fast for her though

Looking at one of these in the Gloucester shopping Mall yesterday, says £2000 minimum part exchange on your old car.

I had a look at this article on new fangled monthly car subscription services (rental dressed up in another way) and compared that model to PCP and Leasing. Quite staggered at the amount apparently normal human beings are prepared to pay out of their monthly income to run cars. I would hope that those MG's sell hand over fist. As I look around your average supermarket carpark these days you can't help thinking that new cars at the just over £20,000 mark are no barrier to a wider adoption of electric vehicles.

MG ZS EV
. . . and not just any old (new) EV, but the first Chinese-built EV to be offered for sale in Europe and Australia. Wonder who will sell and support it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_ZS_SUV

Interesting that the article lists the transmission as CVT. Really a mechanical arrangement, or just a re-interpretation of an electric motor?

Honda e webpage is a little worrying if they can't improve the top speed and the 0-62 time is obviously contradictory :?

I think most of those Honda figures are nonsense.
The Interior Noise figure would likely be fatal.

Are the Peugeot/Citroen electric vans any good?
Considering getting one for my dad to drive about in, although might end up with a Dacia Duster instead.

As an aside - the Citroen range now is awful. Seem to be plenty of them about, but it is not an inspiring range and not a single saloon in sight.

Our local dealer is a long established business that previously sold East European cars iirc.

This chap is well known and respected in electric vehicle circles. Here is a "walk around" of a Peugeot Partner Electric Van. No first hand knowledge of whether they are any good, but plenty on you tube to peruse

I think there's a lot interest in vans, not least because of urban use (limited mileage) and the urgent matter of urban air quality.
Rivian in the U.S. have reportedly taken an order for 10,000 delivery vans for Amazon, with a wad of them to be delivered next year.

https://rivian.com/

News is that Ford have just invested $500million in Rivian.
Beats doing the R&D yourself!

You may have "insider information" Chris. Looks like an initial target of 10,000 vans by 2022 is going up to 100,000 by 2030. Amazon themselves have taken a stake in the Company.
Earlier this month Autocar reported an Order of 100,000 vans.
"Amazon says that the first Rivan-built vans will go into service in 2021, with the plan to have 10,000 on the road by 2022 and all 100,000 in operation by 2030."
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 21 Sep 2019, 09:18 Ever heard of Rivian?

Well they have just received an order for 100,000 electric vans from Amazon.

My error - yes, 100,000 was the final figure, phased delivery.
