POTD is to the forum like Ravens are to the Tower of London
If a day is allowed to pass without a POTD it would be akin to the Ravens deserting the tower!

There's similar scare stories about the Barbary macaques on Gibraltar.
"A popular belief holds that, as long as Gibraltar Barbary macaques exist on Gibraltar, the territory will remain under British rule. In 1942 (during World War II), after the population dwindled to just a handful of individuals (just seven monkeys), British Prime Minister Winston Churchill ordered their numbers be replenished immediately from forest fragments in both Morocco and Algeria because of this traditional belief."

Now Steve did mention they all look similar (er obviously not true for the brick connoisseur). I did dig this out in my meanderings which shows the Whitby to Loftus old railway line and the Viaducts along its length mostly Steel Structures culminating in the rather impressive Staithes Viaduct
May jog some memories Steve.....more pictures at this link

To boost today's POTD here is one job I did out in Mallorca for my mate who is trying to sell his house:
When he moved in 10 years ago the aircon condensor above the pool looked like this:
Own work
Own work
When I arrived in September it looked like this:
Own work
Own work
After completing my restoration it looked like this:
Spoiler: show
Own work
Own work
Hopefully it will help him sell the house :)

There was a similar one in Sandsend, the railway used to run through the Kettleness tunnel - several videos of this on YouTube. We used to play in the tunnel as kids.

Would that be the viaduct near Colyrton, if I've got it right, in the Axe valley in Devon Peter? My daughter lives in Devon and I'm sure I've passed it. :)

No, after some DDG searching on my route its Cannington Viaduct, Uplyme, and the picture is featured on the East Devon tourist guide!! :)

Yes I'd assumed that had happened :-D Using the filename is something that hadn't occurred to me because I hadn't realised how easy it is to find it. Another good tip thanks Neil!! :)
