AM6 Gearbox driveshaft removal

Unread post by jml »

I have been told that you can remove the drive shafts on the six speed AM6 gearbox without losing any of the gearbox oil - is this true ?
Also, if you pull the drive shafts on this box, would you need to change the diff seals or not ?
Any help gratefully received !
Cheers

That's correct, the seals are arranged differently to the old Citroen boxes so no need to drain the box lose the oil or change the seals...…….unless of course leaking is the problem.

Depending on the mileage / age - you might want to change some of the fluid anyway. Whislt branded sealed for life, the life is 100,000 miles. Make sure you can open the fill point 0 its a T55 torx on the top.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for not responding earlier - we’ve been away for a few days in Cornwall (luckily managing to miss most of the rain !)
In fact , had the auto box fluid changed a little while ago - I wrote something on here about it at the time.
Thanks again

Ps Totally agree with your sign off line Gibbo !
