Parking break control faulty 3008

Post by hunter3008 »

Hi hoping someone can help with advice. My 60 plate Peugeot 3008 2lt automatic has been reliable as with only minor wear and tear for almost two years now. But a couple of days ago it came up with parking break faulty error message. It’s intermittent. Sometimes electronic parking break won’t manually engage at all, other times it works absolutely fine with no issues. Any idea what could be the problem?

There can be a 1001 codes for the electronic parking brakes - so really important to get a diagnostic with Diagbox and put the codes up here along with your VIN.

Does the message just come on, then it doesn't respond to the switch, or does it come on when you pull the switch? Does it still work in Auto (i.e. engage when you switch the engine off)?

I will call the garage first thing tomorrow morning. Parking break indicator is constantly flashing today, even when the engine is off. same error message is displayed when I switch the engine on. Automatic parking break engages when u switch the engine off and releases automatically when I put it in D or R. Thanks

Sounds like it's just the switch that's faulty then, let us know what they find.
