The BX has left the building

Post by moizeau »

Sad day, the tat yard in the sky is now the new owner. Metal worm got the better of her. Though sad, I thought it would be better to celebrate her life with me. She was going in the bin in 2005. I've kept her going by hook or by crook, many a good bodge. In the end, I knew the fate during the last 6 months she has not seen much maintenance. She has left with a cracked windscreen, front wishbones that sounded like a selection of percussion instruments, flat front spheres, a rotten chassis where the rear right trailing arm was supposed to be held, various hydraulic leaks (but only 1/2 litre every 3 months), a rotten passenger window regulator (took the switch out so it stayed up), a very leaky rocker cover and rear pads on the metal so much so the handbrake was used for the last 3 weeks.

Started on the button and drove herself to the tat yard. Never let me down and even when poorly always got me home.

I thought this was a fitting celebratory drink, anyone want to join me?
