Our local phone box outside the village hall in Wootton Fitzpaine is used as a library.

...and todays picture up my sleeve is......a mushroom. Worth waiting for, but I am sure the FCF faithful out and about with your cameras, phones, or dash cams can come up with a few pics before the mushroom makes its FCF debut.

My Oz visitors couldn't find any in any of the supermarkets when they were over last month, made do with strawberry.

It's odd, I looked for tinned plums a while back. Looks like they don't grow them any more.
May have to make do with Slivovitz*

Which the spellchecker would rather be Shostakovich :)

You are going to have to wait for my mushroom. It nicely accompanies Gibbo's plums.

Never been to Flodden (Branxton) before but on the back of it appearing in Country Life's 7 examples of what to do with an old phonebox, I took the trouble of taking a "houndie" at the worlds smallest visitor centre.

It was a beautiful day but a short easy walk from the carpark up to the monument at the top of the hill and although Flodden was in 1513 over 500 years ago you could see why it happened where it happened. Absolutely panoramic views over the landscape north to Scotland, and across to the coast.

I'd agree with that Steve, tho a perfectly formed one looks worse in some ways :rofl2:

Got two carrier bags full of pears off the tree yesterday, won't bother to post pictures, I think you all know what pears look like. :)

What's the best way of using them up, nobody wants to take them off my hands and I can't eat them all.

Somebody suggested pear jam last year so I made some, it was disgusting.
